Baseball Recap: Dupo Comes Up Short

Dupo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Marissa/Coulterville Meteors, falling 9-3. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Meteors from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Dupo saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaxson Franke, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Another was Brady Portell, who scored a run and stole two bases.

Dupo's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Marissa/Coulterville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

Coming up, Dupo will challenge Chester at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Yellowjackets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.29 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. Marissa/Coulterville will be paying especially close attention to Dupo's match: after Dupo faces off against Chester, they'll take on Marissa/Coulterville again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
