Baseball Game Preview: Gilman Pirates vs. Spencer Rockets

For the second straight game, Gilman will face off against Spencer. The Pirates will face off against the Rockets at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gilman is on a three-game streak of home wins, Spencer a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.

While Gilman didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Spencer by a score of 6-3 on Tuesday. The game was the first time the Pirates have beaten the Rockets on their field since May 17, 2019.

For Spencer's part, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reed Knecht, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. That double was Knecht's first of the season. Jackson Manicke was another, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Gilman is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Spencer, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
