Baseball Game Preview: Pacific Ridge Firebirds vs. San Jacinto Tigers

The Pacific Ridge Firebirds will take on the San Jacinto Tigers in a tournament on Monday. Pacific Ridge will be strutting in after a win while San Jacinto will be coming in after a loss.

While Pacific Ridge's victory against St. Joseph Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Pacific Ridge came out on top in a nail-biter against St. Joseph Academy on Friday, sneaking past 10-8. The Firebirds' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The team relied heavily on Cal Chivers, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, San Jacinto was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 14-2 to Tahquitz.

San Jacinto's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Pacific Ridge, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-3.
