Soccer Recap: Richlands Comes Up Short

Richlands and Dixon combined for 23 shots on goal on Thursday, which explains the impressive five total goals scored. The Wildcats fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Dixon this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 1-0 back in March.

Abigail Proffitt and Kamrey Watkins scored both of Richlands' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 28 goals.

Richlands is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-10-1. As for Dixon, the victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 12-2-1.

Richlands and Dixon should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Wildcats (ranked 106th) will meet West Carteret (ranked 228th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Dixon will square off against White Oak at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (24 vs. 240).
