Preview: Southwest Christian School Eagles vs. Midland Christian Mustangs
After two games on the road, Southwest Christian School is heading back home. They will take on the Midland Christian Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Southwest Christian School beat Liberty Christian 76-64. Given Southwest Christian School's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 190th, while Liberty Christian is ranked 699th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
In what's become a running theme this season, Midland Christian gave their fans yet another huge win last Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Odessa 73-38 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Midland Christian has posted since November 4, 2023.
Southwest Christian School's victory bumped their record up to 19-8. As for Midland Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 21-5.
Southwest Christian School suffered a grim 63-38 defeat to Midland Christian in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Can Southwest Christian School avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
