Basketball Recap: Chevak Drops Highest Score of Season Against Alakanuk

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chevak). They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Alakanuk Braves 83-19. Winning may never get old, but the Comets sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Ian Chayalkun went supernova for Chevak, putting up 23 points. Those 23 points gave Chayalkun a new career-high. Anthony Martins was another key player, earning 14 points.

Chevak's victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Alakanuk, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Coincidentally, Chevak and Alakanuk will both be playing Tri-Valley the next time they take the court. Alakanuk will head out to face Tri-Valley at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, while Chevak will play them later in the day, at 5:00 p.m.
