Basketball Game Preview: Timber Creek Wolves vs. Lake Nona Lions

The Timber Creek Wolves will be taking part in a tournament against the Lake Nona Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Timber Creek's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Lake Nona has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Timber Creek's tournament run continued when they took on East River on Tuesday. Timber Creek took a 56-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of East River. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 212th, while the Falcons are ranked 96th).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Lake Nona duked it out withWinter Park on Tuesday. Lake Nona fell 45-37 to Winter Park. The contest marked the Lions' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Timber Creek will have to contain Kymani Dixon as he made an impact in Lake Nona's last game. He posted 15 points. The matchup was Dixon's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Moises Valdez, who earned nine points.

Timber Creek's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Lake Nona, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
