Volleyball Recap: Hilliard Red Flashes vs. Wolfson Wolfpack
After flying high against West Nassau last Thursday, Hilliard came back down to earth. The Hilliard Red Flashes fell 3-1 to the Wolfson Wolfpack on Monday. The Red Flashes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolfpack apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2018.
Hilliard started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. After all that action, the final score was 23-25, 25-10, 25-17, 26-24.
Wolfson can attribute much of their success to Milenna Colmenares, who had 20 digs and three aces. The dominant performance gave Colmenares a new career-high in aces.
Hilliard's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 3-4. As for Wolfson, the win for them keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Hilliard will face off against Fernandina Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Wolfson, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory vs. Englewood on the 12th.
