Soccer Game Preview: Mandarin vs. Atlantic Coast

The Mandarin Mustangs will take on the Atlantic Coast Stingrays at 7:20 p.m. on Thursday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Last Monday, Mandarin came up short against Fletcher and fell 3-1. The loss continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Senators: they've now lost nine in a row.

Meanwhile, Atlantic Coast also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to St. Johns Country Day by a score of 3-1. While losing is never fun, the Stingrays can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Spartans are ranked 17th).

Atlantic Coast's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Mandarin, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Mandarin beat Atlantic Coast 2-0 in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mandarin since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
