Softball Recap: Carson Comes Up Short

Carson and Spanish Springs squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Carson had to settle for second. They came up short against the Cougars, falling 18-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Senators in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost nine in a row.

Carson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Brubaker, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Carson's loss dropped their record down to 9-16. As for Spanish Springs, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-4 record this season.

Carson and Spanish Springs are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Senators are taking a road trip to face off against McQueen at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lancers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Spanish Springs, they will challenge Douglas at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cougars will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least ten runs in their last four games.
