Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mount Carmel). They blew past the Lewisburg Green Dragons 19-3 on Monday. With that victory, the RED TORNADOES brought their scoring average up to 9 runs per game.
Gabe Yuskoski was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and one double. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Jason Klokis was another key player, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two RBI.
Mount Carmel hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lewisburg struck out 11 times.
The win got Mount Carmel back to even at 2-2. As for Lewisburg, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3-1.
Looking ahead, Mount Carmel will face off against Montoursville at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lewisburg, they will square off against Loyalsock Township at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
