Football Recap: Community Christian Starts off Right with Win over Lee Christian

Community Christian took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Lee Christian Falcons 66-14. The Cyclones pushed the score to 60-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Falcons cut but never quite recovered from.

Jack Beamon was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 12 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 76 yards and one TD. What's more, he racked up 149.3 passer rating, the most he's had since back in August of 2024. Tee Bohne got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Community Christian proved: they limited Lee Christian to a paltry 0.6 yards per carry. The team can thank Jack Pritchard for the heroic effort on defense: he. Community Christian didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 10.5.

Community Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Bohne picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Looking ahead, Community Christian will square off against Northeast Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lee Christian, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Sandhills Classical Christian at 5:30 p.m. on the 29th.
