Volleyball Recap: Notre Dame Bulldogs vs. Althoff Catholic Crusaders
Notre Dame was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Althoff Catholic Crusaders.
Notre Dame couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Althoff Catholic a tough time in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 17-25, 25-22, 30-28.
Alex Wagoner paced Notre Dame's offense, picking up 16 kills. Wagoner got some help from Joseph Dodson and his 42 assists. Wagoner also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Drue Duby, racking up two apiece.
Leading Althoff Catholic to victory were Nolan Karban and Sam Roche. Karban had 19 digs and three assists, while Roche had three digs and three aces. That's the most aces Roche has posted over his last eight games. Brady Luechtefeld also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.
Notre Dame's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Althoff Catholic, their record is now 7-2.
