The Aledo Bearcats will face off against the Centennial Spartans on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Aledo is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They blew past Monterey 7-1. Winning may never get old, but Aledo sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Brenlee Gonzales made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and only two hits while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Gonzales has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive pitching appearances. Gonzales was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Marina Tavares, who went 1-for-2 with a home run. Another player making a difference was Ana Flores, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1.
Meanwhile, Centennial entered their tilt with Abilene with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 7-1 victory on Saturday.
