Basketball Game Preview: Tennessee Vikings vs. David Crockett Pioneers

Tennessee hasn't had much luck against David Crockett recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Tennessee Vikings will be playing in front of their home fans against the David Crockett Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Tennessee will bounce into Wednesday's game after beating Greeneville, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. Tennessee came out on top against Greeneville by a score of 55-48 on Monday. Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but David Crockett had no problem doing just that on Monday. They blew past the Grizzlies 85-42. The Pioneers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 21 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Tennessee better focus on containing Laney Britton and Brylee Tullock as the pair were huge in David Crockett's win. Britton went 9-for-10 to rack up 22 points and four steals, while Tullock dropped a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds. The contest was Tullock's eighth in a row with at least 18 points. Aaliyah Story was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and ten boards.

David Crockett smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 19 consecutive games.

David Crockett is on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 19 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 32-3 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.2 points. The win made it two in a row for Tennessee and bumps their season record up to 13-17.

Tennessee came up short against David Crockett in their previous matchup last Monday, falling 60-53. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Tullock, who dropped a double-double with 26 points and 14 rebounds.
