Baseball Recap: Plano Takes a Loss

If Plano was feeling good fresh off their 12-0 takedown of Earlville on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Reapers came up short against the Ottawa Pirates on Monday, falling 9-2. The Reapers have struggled against the Pirates recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Plano saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jason Phillips, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Plano's defeat dropped their record down to 12-18. As for Ottawa, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-14 record this season.

Plano will welcome Streator at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ottawa, they will venture away from home to take on Kaneland at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight.
