Basketball Recap: Virginia City Makes It 18 in a Row on the Road

Pyramid Lake typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Virginia City proved too difficult a challenge. They pulled ahead with a 60-59 photo finish over the Pyramid Lake Lakers. Winning may never get old, but the Muckers sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

Pyramid Lake's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rylen Patrick, who went 7 of 10 on his way to 21 points. The dominant performance also gave Patrick a new career-high in field goal percentage (70%). Another player making a difference was Terrell Two Hearts, who went 6 for 13 to rack up 12 points.

Virginia City pushed their record up to 21-1 with the victory, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points over those games. As for Pyramid Lake, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-10.

Virginia City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pyramid Lake, they will head out to square off against Smith Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pyramid Lake is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.4 points per game this season.
