Basketball Game Preview: Gilmer County Titans vs. Webster County Highlanders

Gilmer County hasn't had much luck against Webster County recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Gilmer County Titans will welcome the Webster County Highlanders at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Gilmer County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.

Gilmer County took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They walked away with a 56-44 victory over Calhoun.

Gilmer County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zachariah Wine, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Wine continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kolten Holbert, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 17 points and five boards.

Meanwhile, Webster County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-50 heartbreaker at the hands of Tygarts Valley.

Webster County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Gilmer County, their win bumped their record up to 5-13.
