Football Recap: Harvey Takes a Loss

The Harvey Red Raiders came up short against the Lakewood Rangers on Friday and fell 28-20. The Red Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Harvey lost, don't look at Shahn Alston. Despite the final result, he rushed for 115 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 70 receiving yards and one score. Alston's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 101 rushing yards dating back to last season. Another rusher making a difference was Chris Burt Jr., who gained 85 total yards and a touchdown.

Harvey now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Lakewood, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Harvey will be playing in front of their home fans against Lakeside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lakewood, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Westlake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The match will give the Rangers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
