Recap: Huntingdon Mustangs vs. Peabody Golden Tide
The Huntingdon Mustangs entered their tilt with the Peabody Golden Tide with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Huntingdon took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 48-14 victory over Peabody. Considering Huntingdon has won seven matchups by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Huntingdon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ashton Hutcherson, who rushed for 153 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. Hutcherson was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 67 yards. Another player making a difference was Gray Eubanks, who rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries.
Another reason for the win was Huntingdon's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for ten sacks. It was a group effort, with three picking up two apiece.
Huntingdon's win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.8 points per game. As for Peabody, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-6.
Huntingdon will be playing at home against Waverly Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Peabody, they will head out on the road to face off against Loretto at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Loretto is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
