Basketball Recap: Conifer Skates Past Gilpin County with Ease

A well-balanced attack led Conifer over Gilpin County in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Lobos blew the Eagles out of the water with a 54-9 final score. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Lobos had established a 41-point advantage.

Conifer's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Grant Van Airsdale, who posted seven points and five steals. Those five steals gave Van Airsdale a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dalton Fisher, who earned eight points and five boards.

Conifer was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gilpin County only posted one.

Conifer has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 60.5 points this season. As for Gilpin County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
