Baseball Recap: Montgomery Central Takes a Loss

Montgomery Central managed to slip by Portland the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Indians lost 9-3 to the Panthers on Monday. The Indians were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 13-11.

Montgomery Central got a good showing from Connor Dixon, who tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. That one earned run gave Dixon a new career-low.

At the plate, Dylan Fulton made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Montgomery Central is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-20. As for Portland, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-19 record this season.

As of now, neither Montgomery Central nor Portland have any future games scheduled.
