Eastern extended their winning streak to eight on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 22-5 in the process. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Delphi Community Oracles, sneaking past 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Comets have posted since April 26th.

Eastern got a great performance from Collin Otto as he tossed 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Eastern saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Perry Kochensparger, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

As for Delphi Community, their record is now 15-10. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Delphi Community's side, Levi Coghill was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Looking ahead, Eastern will challenge Rossville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Comets 3.9, the Hornets 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Delphi Community, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fountain Central at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
