Washington Academy faced Ellsworth in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Raiders blew past the Eagles 3-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Raiders also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-7, 25-9.

Aubrey Faulkingham paced Washington Academy's offense, picking up 11 kills. Faulkingham got some help from Lily Hennessey and her 26 assists. Kellan Schwinn controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Washington Academy's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Ellsworth, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

Washington Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Cape Elizabeth on the 27th. As for Ellsworth, they will head out on the road to face off against Orono at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
