Basketball Recap: Knightdale Falls Short of Apex Friendship in the Playoffs

Knightdale and Apex Friendship squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Knightdale had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Apex Friendship Patriots by a score of 56-53. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Knights have suffered since February 22, 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Knightdale lost, don't look at Isaiah Green. Despite the final result, he went 13-for-23 on his way to 32 points and five steals. That's the most points Green has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamari Williams, who had ten points and six boards.

Even though they lost, Knightdale smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Knightdale's loss dropped their record down to 18-8. As for Apex Friendship, their win bumped their record up to 17-10.

Knightdale does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Apex Friendship, they will venture away from home to face off against Panther Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Apex Friendship knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Panther Creek likes a good challenge.
