Baseball Recap: Waterloo Takes a Loss

Waterloo extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping them down to 1-6. They came up short against the Mineral Ridge Rams, falling 7-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-0 on Monday.

As for Mineral Ridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games.

For Mineral Ridge's part, the team relied heavily on Jackson Geddes, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two doubles. That's the most doubles Geddes has posted since back in May of 2025. Andrew Gillie was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Coming up, Waterloo will be playing in front of their home fans against Windham at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mineral Ridge, they will head out on the road to face off against South Range at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
