Basketball Recap: Barstow Comes Up Short

Barstow was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 82-54 loss at the hands of the Victor Valley Jackrabbits. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Aztecs have suffered against the Jackrabbits since January 11, 2022.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Victor Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than AXEL SOSA, who went 7 for 10 on his way to 20 points. That's the most points SOSA has posted since back in February of 2024. ISAIAH BUTLER was another key player, going 6 of 12 on his way to 19 points.

Barstow's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Victor Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-10 record this season.

Barstow will square off against Lakeview Leadership Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Barstow is facing Lakeview Leadership Academy at the right time seeing as Lakeview Leadership Academy is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Victor Valley, they will face off against Granite Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Victor Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.8 points per game this season.
