Basketball Game Preview: Glenn Grizzlies vs. Rouse Raiders

The Glenn Grizzlies will face off against the Rouse Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Glenn was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 67-61 to Leander. While losing is never fun, the Grizzlies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 368th, while the Lions are ranked 105th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rouse). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging an 86-45 victory over Lockhart. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Raiders had established a 31 point advantage.

Glenn better keep an eye on Amari Moore. He was instrumental in Rouse's win, going 8 for 18 on his way to 24 points. The dominant performance gave Moore a new career-high in points. Ayden Davis was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Rouse smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. They are 4-1 when they hit their own glass that hard.

Rouse has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Glenn, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 9-12.

Things could have been worse for Glenn, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 66-52 loss to Rouse in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Thankfully for Glenn, Jojo Moore (who shot 4-for-4 from deep and almost dropped a triple-double on 19 points, nine boards, and nine assists) won't be suiting up this time.
