Baseball Game Preview: Scott Skyhawks vs. Hurricane Redskins

The Scott Skyhawks will challenge the Hurricane Redskins at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Scott comes in on five and Hurricane on seven.

On Tuesday, Scott was able to grind out a solid victory over Chapmanville Regional, taking the game 7-4.

The team relied heavily on Kedron Elkins, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Blayne Kuhn was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Meanwhile, Hurricane faced St. Albans in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Redskins never let the Red Dragons get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. Considering the Redskins have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Scott pushed their record up to 15-4-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Hurricane, their victory bumped their record up to 16-3.

Scott came out on top in a nail-biter against Hurricane when the teams last played back in May of 2019, sneaking past 6-4. Do the Skyhawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Redskins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
