Basketball Game Preview: Central Eagles vs. North Central Knights

The Central Eagles will take on the North Central Knights in a holiday battle at at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.2 points per game this season.

Last Thursday, Central escaped with a win against Piedmont by the margin of a single free throw, 59-58. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 183rd in South Carolina, while the Panthers are ranked 445th in North Carolina), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Tazhir Webber, who posted 17 points and five assists. Another player making a difference was Jordan Crowder, who had 11 points and eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, North Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. The game between them and Lugoff-Elgin didn't end well, with North Central falling 54-35.

North Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5.

Central came up short against North Central in their previous meeting back in January, falling 58-53. Can Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
