Basketball Recap: Martins Ferry Comes Up Short

Martins Ferry was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 76-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cambridge Bobcats. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (56), the Purple Riders still had to take the loss.

Martins Ferry's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Cambridge, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Martins Ferry will challenge Buckeye Local at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Martins Ferry is facing Buckeye Local at the right time seeing as Buckeye Local is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Cambridge, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against St. Clairsville at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in St. Clairsville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
