Soccer Recap: Vance County Takes a Loss

Despite a strong season so far, Vance County has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the East Wake Warriors. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Vance County came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 169th, while East Wake are ranked 397th).

Aidan Labra and Elmer Mejia-Turcios scored both of Vance County's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 51 goals.

Vance County's loss dropped their record down to 15-7-1. As for East Wake, their win ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 5-17-1.

As of now, neither Vance County nor the Warriors have any future games scheduled.
