Baseball Recap: St. Dominic's Run of Three Straight Victories Now Over

If St. Dominic was feeling good fresh off their 9-3 takedown of Lutheran on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Crusaders fell 9-6 to the Timberland T-Wolves on Monday. The Crusaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the T-Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Cooper Montgomery made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Anthony Flamm Jr. was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

With the loss, St. Dominic broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-6-1. As for Timberland, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-10.

St. Dominic and Timberland should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings. The Crusaders (ranked 29th) will meet St. Francis Borgia (ranked 146th) at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Timberland will face off against Fort Zumwalt South at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (100 vs. 353). The timing is sure in the T-Wolves' favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while the Bulldogs have been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
