Recap: Armstrong River Hawks vs. Westmont Hilltop Hilltoppers
Even though the Westmont Hilltop Hilltoppers scored an imposing 56 points on Saturday, the Armstrong River Hawks still came out on top. Armstrong slipped by Westmont Hilltop 57-56.
Armstrong's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Valasek, who scored 26 points. Jacob Szep was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds.
The victory got Armstrong back to even at 1-1. As for Westmont Hilltop, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Armstrong's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Kiski School at 7:30 p.m. on December 5th. Westmont Hilltop will take on Bishop Carroll at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
