Softball Game Preview: White County Central Bears vs. Batesville Pioneers

The White County Central Bears will venture away from home to take on the Batesville Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. White County Central will be strutting in after a win while Batesville will be coming in after a defeat.

White County Central made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Midland, but they still couldn't quite topple them. White County Central put the hurt on Midland with a sharp 19-4 victory on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bears.

Hannah Blagg was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off ten hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing Three bases. while going 4-for-5.

In other batting news, Olivia Bullock was incredible, going 4-for-5 with six RBI, two stolen bases, and one run. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Haylee Smith was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

White County Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .604. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Midland only posted an OBP of .367.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 20 runs the game before, Batesville was a bit more limited in their contest on Monday. They lost 12-2 to Harrisburg.

White County Central now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Batesville, their loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.
