Basketball Game Preview: Washburn Castle Guards vs. Spooner Rails

The Washburn Castle Guards will venture away from home to challenge the Spooner Rails at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Washburn can't be too happy about their upcoming road contest considering what happened when they opened their season away from home on Friday. The matchup between the Castle Guards and Chequamegon didn't end well, with the Castle Guards falling 56-42.

Meanwhile, Spooner lost to Shell Lake on the road by a 75-61 margin on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Rails in their meetings with the Lakers: they've now lost seven in a row.

Washburn came up short against Spooner in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 49-42. Can the Castle Guards avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
