Basketball Game Preview: Meridian Mustangs vs. Diller-Odell Griffin

Meridian hasn't had much luck against Diller-Odell recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Meridian Mustangs will take on the Diller-Odell Griffin in a tournament on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Meridian is headed into Monday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They had to suffer through a 76-37 loss at the hands of Tri County. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-16.

Meanwhile, Diller-Odell lost to Deshler at home by a 49-35 margin on Friday.

Meridian will need focus on slowing down Braydin Wendland, one of several Diller-Odell players who made an impact when they last played. He posted five points and five steals. Those five steals gave Wendland a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Sohl, who put up eight points.

Diller-Odell has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Meridian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
