Baseball Game Preview: Seminole Warhawks vs. Countryside Cougars

For the second straight game, Seminole will face off against Countryside. The Warhawks will be playing at home against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Seminole 2.9, Countryside 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Seminole heads in on the heels of a playoff game on Monday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Countryside. The Warhawks' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

For Countryside's part, the result came thanks to Cody Hollenbeck's shutout, as he gave up just four hits. Hollenbeck has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Countryside's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Trent King, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases King has posted since back in February. Brody Sadlowski was another, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Countryside's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-8. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Seminole, their loss dropped their record down to 21-7.

Countryside's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Seminole has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .432.
