Softball Game Preview: Montgomery Central Timberwolves vs. Ledford Panthers

The Montgomery Central Timberwolves will challenge the Ledford Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Montgomery Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.

Montgomery Central fell victim to North Davidson and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 10-0 to the Black Knights. The Timberwolves have struggled against the Black Knights recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Montgomery Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Annabelle Spivey, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, Ledford didn't have quite enough to beat Central Davidson on Friday and fell 6-5.

Emma Tesh was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That double marked the first that she hit this season. Alana Herrera was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Ledford's defeat dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Montgomery Central, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Montgomery Central has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Ledford struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
