Softball Recap: North Fort Myers Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but North Fort Myers had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Charlotte Fightin' Tarpons 5-4. Winning may never get old, but the Red Knights sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Kaliyah Williams made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Abigail Hynes, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Kelley Conley, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

North Fort Myers' win bumped their record up to 17-6. As for Charlotte, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-14 record this season.

North Fort Myers has already played their next contest, a 14-12 defeat against Fort Myers on the 1st. As for Charlotte, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 10-6 victory against Mariner on the 8th.
