Softball Recap: Lee Williams Comes Up Short

If Lee Williams was riding high fresh off their 11-1 takedown of Mingus last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Volunteers came up short against the Coconino Panthers on Tuesday, falling 10-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-1 two weeks ago.

Lee Williams saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sami Marshall, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Marshall is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Lee Williams' loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Coconino, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-4.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Lee Williams will challenge rival Flagstaff at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Coconino is set to square off against their familiar foe Mingus at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
