Volleyball Recap: Kolbie Wansley Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Neshoba Central

Newton County not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since October 8, 2024 (when they won 3-0). Everything went their way against the Neshoba Central Rockets as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Rockets: they've now won five in a row.

Newton County never let Neshoba Central on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-19, 25-22.

Newton County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kolbie Wansley out in front who had 17 digs. Those 17 digs gave Wansley a new career-high.

Newton County's victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newton County will take on Kosciusko in a tournament on Saturday. As for Neshoba Central, they will venture away from home to square off against Northeast Lauderdale at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
