Softball Recap: Oak Hill Comes Up Short at Home Against North Yarmouth Academy

Oak Hill unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the North Yarmouth Academy Panthers on Thursday, falling 16-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Raiders have suffered since May 13, 2024.

Oak Hill saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sydney Wood, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. Another was Carlee Austin, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

The win (which was North Yarmouth Academy's sixth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 2-0.

Coming up, Oak Hill will be playing in front of their home fans against Sacopee Valley at 11:00 a.m. on the 26th. As for North Yarmouth Academy, they will take on Maine Central Institute at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
