Basketball Recap: Amsterdam's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Amsterdam waltzed into their game on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They secured a 38-32 W over the Gloversville Huskies/Dragons. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 167th, while the Huskies/Dragons are ranked 457th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Amsterdam has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Gloversville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Amsterdam will face off against Broadalbin-Perth at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Broadalbin-Perth is on a five-game streak of home wins, Amsterdam a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Gloversville, they will venture away from home to face off against Glens Falls at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Glens Falls will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Gloversville surely won't give up without a fight.
