Baseball Game Preview: Hampton Bulldogs vs. South Greene Rebels

The Hampton Bulldogs will venture away from home to take on the South Greene Rebels at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Hampton has given up an average of 11.2 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Hampton's last matchup with Chuckey-Doak could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Tuesday. The Bulldogs came up short against the Black Knights, falling 12-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Black Knights: they've now lost six in a row.

Jamie Turbyfill made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Kuhn, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, South Greene lost 14-2 to Morristown-Hamblen East on Friday. The Rebels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hampton's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for South Greene, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.

Hampton suffered a grim 16-2 defeat to South Greene in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
