Basketball Game Preview: Stevens Cardinals vs. Fall Mountain Wildcats

Stevens and Fall Mountain are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Stevens Cardinals take on the Fall Mountain Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Stevens has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with seven straight losses, while Fall Mountain will come in with five straight victories.

Last Tuesday, Stevens came up short against Monadnock and fell 40-28.

While Fall Mountain didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Hillsboro-Deering 58-12. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 27 points or more this season.

Fall Mountain's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-0. As for Stevens, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Stevens was able to grind out a solid victory over Fall Mountain in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, winning 46-37. Does Stevens have another victory up their sleeve, or will Fall Mountain turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
