Preview: Wellsville Eagles vs. Baldwin Bulldogs
Wellsville is 9-1 against Baldwin since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The two teams will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Wellsville is looking to tack on another W to their eight-game streak on the road.
Wellsville scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They came out on top against Bishop Seabury Academy by a score of 77-65. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Baldwin posted their closest win yet this season on Saturday. They skirted past Augusta 44-42. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Baldwin has scored all season.
Baldwin's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cooper Carr, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Joey Ziembicki, who scored ten points.
Wellsville's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Baldwin, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2.
Wellsville beat Baldwin 62-55 when the teams last played on Wednesday. Will Wellsville repeat their success, or does Baldwin have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
