Basketball Recap: Fairfield Christian Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Hudson Harper and Cayden Penha

Fairfield Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-46 heartbreaker at the hands of the Miller Falcons. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Falcons earlier this season, when they won 56-48.

Despite the defeat, Fairfield Christian Academy had strong showings from Cayden Penha, who to rack up 19 points and eight rebounds, and Hudson Harper, who en route to 13 points. Harper continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Even though they lost, Fairfield Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Miller only four assists.

Miller got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Logan Doughty out in front who almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine boards. That makes it five consecutive games in which Doughty has scored at least a third of Miller's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Dorsey, who posted 15 points and five steals.

Fairfield Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Miller, their win bumped their record up to 7-13.

Fairfield Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 69-50 defeat against Liberty Union on the 15th. As for Miller, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 51-41 victory against Millersport on the 17th.
