Volleyball Game Preview: Great Oak Wolfpack vs. Chaparral Pumas

The Great Oak Wolfpack will square off against the Chaparral Pumas at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Great Oak sitting on three straight victories and Chaparral on five.

Great Oak took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Vista Murrieta, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Great Oak won by a set and slipped past Vista Murrieta 3-2.

Great Oak was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-21, 27-29, 25-19, 17-15.

Meanwhile, Chaparral narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Hillcrest 2-1.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Chaparral who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-19, 18-25, 15-10.

Great Oak's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-3. As for Chaparral, their win bumped their record up to 11-7.

Great Oak came out on top in a nail-biter against Chaparral when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will Great Oak repeat their success, or does Chaparral has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
