After having lost a blowout in their previous game against River Valley, ALA - West Foothills was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Holbrook Roadrunners as they made off with a 17-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Guardians, who have now won 13 games by ten runs or more so far this season.
Ava LaHair made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. LaHair was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, ALA - West Foothills got a massive performance out of Ave Risati, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 2-for-2. Risati has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Madelyn Caines, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
ALA - West Foothills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive matches.
